Biography: Bokov was born to the Soviet poet and songwriter, Victor Bokov, in 1940. His family encouraged him to pursue a career as an artist, leading him to attend the Art Academy of Leningrad in St. Petersburg at a young age. Although he initially studied music, he found his direction in life after being introduced to painting. After his studies, he moved to Moscow, where discovering the works of Vincent Van Gogh cemented his calling. Seeking artistic expression and freedom, Bokov immigrated to New York City in 1974. He is a talented draftsman who is always drawing, capturing the energy and mood of a scene through his observations. Bokov also uses his vivid imagination to explore creative ideas by utilizing materials like paint, fabric, plastic, and everyday found objects. His works are included in many public collections, and he has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in museums and galleries.
